Aluminium folding sliding doors installed at property in Scotland - Living in an idyllic setting in a valley in west Scotland, Sunfold Systems helped create the ultimate cosy living space for the property owner’s lounge whilst also optimising the view over the Scottish countryside. 

Their open plan lounge area was already equipped with glass patio doors, however, through harsh weather conditions they found that their then doors weren’t protecting them fully against the elements and letting both cold air and noise into the property.   

So whilst the house was receiving some modernisation, the property owners conducted research into a number of sliding folding door systems and finally made their decision after visiting the Grand Design exhibition having seen the doors first-hand.

“As soon as we touched the handles and opened and closed the doors by Sunfold Systems we felt the quality of the mechanisms working and how they seemed to just glide so easily. They also had more superior finishes than other companies we looked at. Plus Lizzy Steward, who took us through the options and demonstrated the features of the systems, was so helpful and professional it made it very easy for us to make our choice,” said the owner.

To maximise the space and to improve insulation whilst hindering the whistling of the wind, three sets of replacement folding sliding doors were installed using Sunfold Systems’ premium SFK70 aluminium door sets and complete with in-glazed blinds.

Designed specifically to achieve optimum resistance against adverse weather conditions, the SFK70 thermally broken aluminium folding sliding door system was manufactured bespoke to the customer’s exact specifications. Plus through exceptionally slim sightlines the sliding doors were able to make the most of the couple’s beautiful surroundings.

“Everything arrived on time and there were no problems with the installation,” she added. “The team worked very well together and the finished sliding folding doors look fantastic. But most importantly they work brilliantly," she added.
