Commercial composite window - SFCW
Composite window, the SFCW is a 50:50 combination of both aluminium and timber (aluminium to the exterior and timber to the interior) and is available in a range of configurations including tilt turn, open-in, open-out, top-hung, side-hung, bottom-hung, projecting, fully reversible and fixed. All windows complement the rest of the Sunfold folding sliding door range. Tilt turn windows in particular offer multifunctional use through one single operating handle so when the handle is in the tilt position the window opens in at the top as a source of ventilation, and when moved into the turn position the window becomes hinged on either the left of right side and opens inwards to show an unobstructed view. Fixed windows do not provide the option of opening and are used more specifically for areas where additional light is required and opening isn’t. Our windows are also available in aluminium. Features
Standard frame thickness is 100mm (50mm aluminium/50mm timber)- True composite 50:50 profile gives maximum strength and durability
- Timber is available in pine or oak
- Mechanisms are supplied coated to protect against weathering
- Handles are all provided satin silver anodised, locking or non-locking
- Tested to BS 7950 & PAS 24
- Complies with the revised part of Document L Building Regulations (October 2010)
Fully reversible configurations allow for cleaning of the outside pane from the inside- U-values based on a window size of 1230mm x 1480mm are, 1.4 W/mK for double glazed units (28mm with centre-pane value of 1.2 W/mK)
- Triple glazed options can achieve overall U values down to as low as 1.1 W/mK

Colours & finishes
Standard timber finishes
Standard aluminium finishes
- External aluminium is available powder-coated to any RAL colour
- Timber can be painted to any RAL or NCS colour, or stained
- Clear lacquer is a standard finish for pine and oak
- Glazing gaskets are black with white internal concealed weather strips
- Handles are supplied in silver

Glazing
- Our standard 28mm unit comprises two panes of 4mm clear toughened glass, with an argon gas filled 20mm cavity. The inner pane is equipped with a Low E (soft coat) thermally efficient coating
- Triple glazed units can be accommodated
- Many solar control and tinted glass options are available
- Transom rails and glazing bars can be incorporated into your door design
Glazing bars
Three types of glazing bars can be incorporated into your window design.
- Aluminium and timber bars fixed to the inside and outside of the glass unit
- Bars set inside the glass units
- Aluminium bars offset from the external face of the glass.
Ventilation
- Through frame trickle ventilation is available if required
- Silver vent cover / opener is supplied on the inside
- Open out windows have no visible vent cover on the outside
- Open in windows have a external vent hood powder-coated to match the aluminium finish
