folding doors
sfk82 specification and details
SFK82 folding sliding doors create an open, flexible and modern space for both living and working environments. An ideal solution for sunrooms, conservatories & swimming pools. Also ideally suited for commercial situations including pavement cafés, restaurants, balconies and car showrooms.
The SFK82 offers the best of both worlds with the warmth timber to the inside and the durability of aluminium to the outside.
SFK82 doors comply with revised (April 2006) part of Document L Building Regulations.
Dimensions
Panels up to 2800mm high can be hinged together in long 'trains' to open up 90% of an elevation. The maximum panel width is 1100mm (for heights up to 2500mm). Panel heights over 2500mm will require a horizontal transom in each panel for stability.
Security
Intermediate panels joints are held securely by internal shoot bolts top and bottom. These are operated via a flat, colour matched, sprung handle. End panels and pass doors are fitted with a 3-point locking mechanism that meets insurance companies' requirements.
Weather seals
Unique 'finger safe' severe weather rated (to DIN18055 groups B & C) weather seals ensure draft free year round comfortable living. The SFK82 has been pressure tested to 900Pa. The seals are specifically designed to be soft & 'finger safe' should little hands get trapped!
Appearance
Fully adjustable aluminium frames can be coloured to suit your tastes. Standard finishes include silver anodised (EV1), polyester powder coated White(RAL 9016)and Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016).For the timber side (inside) standard finishes include Light Oak, Dark Oak, Teak, Mahogany & Walnut.

Glazing
Sealed glazed units up to 38mm can be accommodated in the SFK82. Our standard 24mm unit comprises two panes of 4mm clear toughened glass with a thermally efficient, argon gas filled 16mm cavity. The inner pane is equipped with a thermally efficient Low E coating. Units are manufactured to BS6206a and BS5713. Many solar control, tinted glasses and self-cleaning options are available. We can also offer Venetian or pleated blinds in a variety of colours which sit within the glazing cavity - please see http://www.pellini.net/ for further information.
Stacking / Folding
Panels can be stacked inside or outside of the room, to the left, right or split to stack on both sides. Where odd numbers of panels are used, the last panel in the 'train' is furnished as a secure pass door with lever handles both sides for daily use.
Suspension
Panels can be top hung (suspended) or bottom rolling (floor supported). The bottom track can be recessed into the floor allowing an uninterrupted flush finish (and meets requirements of Document M).
Ancilleries
Transom rails and solid (non-glazed) panels can be incorporated into your door design.
Ventilation
Ventilation can be offered in the form of in-glazed vents, which are situated above the glass at the head of the panel - see http://www.rwsimon.co.uk/airstrip_300.htm for further information.
Opening in tilt and turn windows offer multi-functional use through one single operating handle. When the handle is moved to the "tilt" position the vent opens in at the top allowing a source of ventilation. When the handle is moved to the "turn" position the window is hinged on either left or right and opens to the inside for an unobstructed view, complete ventilation & to make cleaning easy.
Tilt turn windows also comply with the Scottish Building regulations that state, "Any window or part of a window more than 4m above the adjacent ground should be constructed so that its internal and external glazed surfaces can be cleaned safely from inside the building".
