folding doors
sft30 specification and details
SFT30 folding sliding doors create an open, flexible and modern space for both living and working environments. Due to the slim lightweight profiles the SFT30 is an ideal solution for dividing garden rooms and conservatories from the main. Also suited for commercial situations including pavement cafés, restaurants, balconies and car showrooms.
The SFT30 system has a few less options than the SFK50 system. However, the cost saving in using this system over the SFK50 system is approximately 50%, making it ideally suited for use by the trade.
Dimensions
Panels up to 3000mm high can be hinged together in long 'trains' to open up 92% of an elevation. The maximum panel width is 800mm (for heights up to 2600mm). Panel heights over 2400mm will require a horizontal transom in each panel for stability.
Security
Intermediate panels joints are held securely by internal shoot bolts top and bottom operated from a single black latch lock, which is recessed into the frame. End pass doors are fitted with a 3-point locking mechanism that meets insurance companies' requirements.
Weather seals
Vertical rubber compression seals front and back with additional compression and sweep strip to tracks provide a draught seal.
Appearance
Adjustable aluminium frames can be coloured to suit your tastes. Standard finishes include silver anodised (EV1) and polyester powder coated white (RAL 9010 or 9016), cream (RAL 1013), dark green (RAL 6005), light grey (RAL 7040), dark grey (RAL 7016) and brown (RAL 8017). Wood-grain and stone effect foil finishes are also available upon request.

Glazing
Sealed glazed units up to 20mm can be accommodated in the SFT30. Our standard comprises two panes of 4mm clear toughened glass with a 12mm cavity. The inner pane is equipped with a thermally efficient Low E coating. Units are manufactured to BS6206a and BS5713. Many solar control and tinted glasses are also available.
Stacking / Folding
Panels can be stacked inside or outside of the room, to the left, right or split to stack on both sides. Where odd numbers of panels are used, the last panel in the 'train' is furnished as a secure pass door with lever handles both sides for daily use. The SFT30 system can also be used on curved apertures.
Suspension
Panels are top hung (suspended). The stainless steel bottom track is recessed into the floor allowing an uninterrupted flush finish (and meets requirements of Document M), which is ideal when the doors are being used as a room divider.
Ancilleries
Transom rails and solid (non-glazed) panels can be incorporated into your door design.
Ventilation
Ventilation can be offered in the form of in-glazed vents, which are situated above the glass at the head of the panel - see http://www.rwsimon.co.uk/airstrip_300.htm for further information.
Windows
We can offer tilt turn or fixed windows to complement our system.
Opening in tilt and turn windows offer multi-functional use through one single operating handle. When the handle is moved to the "tilt" position the vent opens in at the top allowing a source of ventilation. When the handle is moved to the "turn" position the window is hinged on either left or right and opens to the inside for an unobstructed view, complete ventilation & to make cleaning easy.
Tilt turn windows also comply with the Scottish Building regulations that state, "Any window or part of a window more than 4m above the adjacent ground should be constructed so that its internal and external glazed surfaces can be cleaned safely from inside the building".
