Features:

The SFK70 folding sliding door system is the highest specifcation "thermally broken aluminium folding sliding door system" available. It is the best complete aluminium system for external applications in any living or working environment. An ideal solution for openings in any extension, balcony, sunroom, conservatory, or around swimming pools, also suited to commercial situations, including pavement cafes, restaurants, and showrooms.

Features

  • Any number of panels can be connected in long trains that allow over 90% of the elevation to be opened.
  • Will stack inside or outside of the room, to the left, the right, or split to stack on both sides. Runs with an odd number of panels end with a secure pass door furnished with lever handles both sides for daily use. Opening configurations.
  • Can be manufactured to maximum height of 2500mm, with panel widths of almost 1100mm. Overall heights of up to 3000mm can be achieved with a transom and slimmer panel widths.
  • Top hung (suspended) or bottom rolling (floor supported) options are available.
  • Offers the slimmest sightlines in Europe (only 100mm!) allow an increase in light, glass, and a reduction in frame bulk.
  • Severe weather rated seals and unique 'finger safe' gaskets (to DIN 18055 groups B & C) ensure draft free, year round, comfortable living.
  • Tracks are available at three levels, flush (with brush seals), semi weathered and fully weathered. Bottom tracks can be recessed into the floor to allow an uninterrupted finish that meets the requirements of Document M. Track Details.
  • Unlike most systems the top and bottom tracks are fully thermally broken to prevent cold bridging.
  • Projecting aluminium sills are thermally broken to fall in line with the thermal break of the track.
  • Passed 'internationally' recognised pressure testing, to 900 pascal. (Normal severe weather rating is 600 Pa)
  • Static and sliding corner posts that compliment the system are available in thermally broken aluminium to produce corner openings.
  • The system can be manufactured into faceted sets to slide around segmented curves.
  • Complies with the revised part of Document L Building Regulations (April 2006).
  • Complementary range of fixed and tilt turn windows are available.

Security and Safety

  • End panels and pass doors are fitted with a 3-point locking mechanism that meets insurance companies' requirements.
  • Intermediate panel joints are held closed by internal shoot bolts top and bottom operated by a flat, colour matched, sprung handle.
  • Available option of key locking shoot bolts for added security and external access.
  • All key locking cylinders are Sunfold's unique High security locks.
  • 'Finger safe' gaskets specifically designed to be safe should fingers get trapped upon closing.

Colouring and Finishes

  • Standard finishes include silver anodised (EV1), polyester powder coated White (RAL 9016 Matt), Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016 Matt), Signal Black (RAL9005 Matt) and Dark Metalic Grey (DB703). Standard Finishes.
  • Powder coating is available in any RAL colour to suit any style and taste.
  • Marine treatment is available to protect the finish in saline environments.
  • Gaskets are available in black (standard) but also white and grey.
  • Dual colouring is available for the outside finish to differ from the inside.

Glazing

  • The SFK70 will accommodate glazed units up to 36mm.
  • Our standard 24mm unit comprises two panes of 4mm clear toughened glass, with an argon gas filled 16mm cavity. The inner pane is equipped with a Low E (soft coat) thermally efficient coating. Units are manufactured to BS6206A and BS5713.
  • Using our standard glass the SFK70 will generally achieve U-Values of between 1.6 to 1.8 W/m²K depending upon system size.
  • Many solar control and tinted glass options are available.
  • Transom rails and solid (non-glazed) panels can be incorporated into your door design.
  • Venetian or pleated blinds are available to sit within the glazing cavity. Blinds and Vents.

Ventilation

  • Ventilation can be offered via 'through frame trickle vents', in-glazed vents and tilt turn panels. Blinds and Vents.
  • 'Through frame vents' require an extension section along the head track of the doors.
  • In-glazed vents are positioned above the glass at the head of the panel.
  • Tilt turn panels are available on inward opening sets of folding sliding doors. These are effectively a window sash within the folding door panel.
