electric sliding roof
The Sunfold Sliding Electric Roof system is manufactured from extruded aluminium and is available with or without a polyamide thermal break making it suitable for domestic or commercial applications.
The panels are manufactured in modular form and are designed to open up to 66% of the roof area.
The roof is ideal for sunrooms, conservatories, roof-lights, swimming pools, cafés and restaurants.
Dimensions
Thanks to a modular construction, the roof can be a wide as you like. The maximum standard roof beam length is 6000mm (longer beams can be manufactured by arrangement). Roof panes can be up to 1500mm wide depending on the weight and glazing materials used. A variable wall plate accommodates a roof pitch from 8° to 22°.
Weather seals
The 128mm deep aluminium roof beams are designed with profiles to act as water convectors as well as panel guides. Panels feature weatherproof brush piles and rubber gaskets to non-sliding elements. The roof system has been extensively tested (UNI EN 42/76, 86/81, 77/77) to resist precipitation at 150Pa. The system includes extruded aluminium gutters.
Appearance
Aluminium frames can be coloured to suit your tastes. The standard finishes are polyester powder coated white (RAL 9010 or 9016).

Glazing
Sealed glazed units from 10-24mm can be accommodated. Also available are lightweight clear or tinted polycarbonate panels and aluminium-polythene resin sandwich panels. Our standard 24mm glazed unit comprises two panes of 4mm clear toughened glass with a thermally efficient, argon gas filled 16mm cavity. The inner pane is equipped with a thermally efficient Low E coating. Units are manufactured to BS6206a and BS5713. Many solar control, tinted glasses and self-cleaning options are available.
Operation
Roof panels are electrically operated via a small 24V motor with a simple forward-backward controller. Roofs are designed with panels that slide back to open up from 50-66% of the roof.
Ancillaries
Rain sensors are available to automatically open and close the roof depending upon weather conditions.
