sliding doors
sft140 specification and details
SFT140 life & glide doors create an open, flexible and modern space for both living and working environments. An ideal solution for sunrooms, conservatories & swimming pools. Also ideally suited for commercial situations including pavement cafés, restaurants, balconies and car showrooms.
Multi-track sliding doors are designed to open up large elevations quickly and easily. The SFT140 system is used primarily for larger panel widths as it can cope with larger weights due to the frame being approx 16mm thicker than the SFT70 system.
SFT140 doors comply with revised (April 2006) part of Document L Building Regulations.
Dimensions
Panels can be up to 3000mm high and in excess of 2000mm per panel in width.
Security
Sliding door panels are locked against the frame by a three-point locking internal handle, which is ergonomically designed for easy operation of heavy panels. A vertical locking bar engages 28mm into multiple strikers concealed in the frame. Panels are designed so that they cannot be levered out of the floor guide track and are only ever internally glazed.
Weather seals
Severe weather rated (to DIN18055) double brush strips surround the perimeter of each panel. The guide rails are designed to prevent seal distortion under panel wind loads and include rubber insulating gaskets with triple seal points. Intermediate panels hook over each other onto tubular seals, which compensate for any thermal movement.
Appearance
Aluminium frames can be coloured to suit your tastes. Standard finishes include silver anodised (EV1) and polyester powder coated white (RAL 9010 or 9016), cream (RAL 1013), dark green (RAL 6005), light grey (RAL 7040), dark grey (RAL 7016) and brown (RAL 8017). Wood-grain and stone effect foil finishes are also available upon request.

Glazing
Sealed glazed units from 24-32mm can be accommodated in the SFT140. Our standard 24mm unit comprises two panes of 6mm clear toughened glass with a thermally efficient, argon gas filled 12mm cavity. The inner pane is equipped with a thermally efficient Low E coating. Units are manufactured to BS6206a and BS5713. Many solar control, tinted glasses and self-cleaning options are available.
Stacking Arrangement
Panels can be supplied on double or triple parallel tracks allowing up to 66% of the elevation to open at one time. All panels are capable of sliding (i.e. no "fixed" panels are necessary).
Suspension
Panels are bottom rolling (floor supported) on drained floor guide tracks. Panels run on a pair of 30mm sealed ball bearing wheeled carriages capable of carrying up to 300Kg.
Ancillaries
Transom rails and solid (non-glazed) panels can be incorporated into your door design.
Ventilation
Ventilation can be offered in the form of in-glazed vents, which are situated above the glass at the head of the panel - see http://www.rwsimon.co.uk/airstrip_300.htm for further information.
