Bi-folding doors for architect's private residence
Folding sliding doors for architect’s private residential project - Making the most of spectacular views is important for any development project and this was especially true for Gibney House. Set in an idyllic position, the rear aspect of the building was designed to incorporate the beautiful views through using sliding folding doors from Sunfold Systems.
Three sets of four-panel SFK82 folding doors were chosen to best suit the project. The SFK82 folding sliding door combines a selection of timber and aluminum cladding to create a clean modern appearance while achieving a warm and natural feel through the internal timber.
The system provides the added benefit of minimal maintenance and is an ideal solution for openings in any extension, balcony, sunroom or conservatory.
Having used Sunfold Systems on many occasions in the past, Paul Bancroft Architects’ practice associate Derick Uys commented on the work carried out: “We wanted to maximise the openings on the south elevation to take advantage of the magnificent view and to give a seamless transition between the internal and external terrace areas. Having used Sunfold Systems before, we knew they could be relied upon to provide a high quality product which would comfortably achieve the technical and aesthetic requirements of the design and would fit with our timescales.”
